Introduction

Beijing Xingwei Sports Goods Co., Ltd.

The company was established in 1987, and is the largest billiards equipment manufacturer in China, and the company has had a rapid development in the sports goods industry, and was highly appraised by the authorities.

In order for the company to survive and become the best among many other companies in the industry it has undergone a transitional change from a labour density company to a science and technology one.

In the year of 1990, the Company’s billiard table was approved by China National Sports Committee as the designated billiard table used by the National game.

From 1993 -1996, the table was chosen to be used for Asian-wide competitions.

In 1998 its “STAR” brand name was recognized by the Chinese national Industry bureau and the Chinese Trade Mark bureau.

In the same year the Company got ISO9002 approval and the table gained Gold awards in Sports Goods exhibitions both in 1998 and 2000,

Its products are exported to America, Europe, Middle East, Australia, Japan, Russia & Hong Kong.

World Snooker Services

In 2006 Beijing Xingwei Sports Goods Co., Ltd. enlisted the help of World Snooker Services to give technical advice and assist designing their tables to be able to compete in the current market place.

World Snooker Services are renowned for their knowledge and expertise in all aspects of the billiard trade.

Together after months of planning designing and testing they have produced a magnificent table worthy of any stage. The table produced is from the” STAR” range and is appropriately named The “STAR” Tournament Table.

World Snooker Services used their contacts within the trade and after only two months instantly projected the Star table onto Sky Sports for the Betfred Matchroom Premier league being shown “Live” in over 44 countries worldwide.    

The table rapidly gained high acclaim from the worlds top professional players and has generated a lot of attention from within the Snooker industry.

Building on the success of the Matchroom Premier league the table was then sanctioned for use in professional ranking tournaments by World Snooker, the sports governing body, resulting in it being used for the 2007 China Open held in Beijing.

During the Tournament all players’ comments (including the ones who lost their matches) were full of praise for the table culminating in Stephen Hendry MBE agreeing to endorse the tables for the next five years. When speaking to Stephen regarding his view on the table he stated the following…

“The Star Tournament Table is probably the best championship table I have ever played on, a quality piece of craftsmanship and design, built to the very highest tournament standard. Anyone who is serious about their snooker would want to play on a Star Tournament Table.”
